Tamsui – Fisherman’s Wharf – Lover’s Bridge – Ubike.

Tamsui – Fisherman’s Wharf – Lover’s Bridge – Ubike.

We took a boat from the Tamsui Passenger Wharf to the Fishermen’s Wharf, and as soon as you got off the boat, we could see the pure white Lover’s Bridge. It may not be well known that this bridge has a plate of the god of love “Yuelao” on it. Lover Bridge and Tamsui are only about 5km apart, so it takes about an hour to get there on foot for adults, but this time we took a boat to get to Lover Bridge, and on the return trip we rode rental-cycles and enjoyed the surrounding scenery and the sunset.

Take a boat to the Fishermen’s Wharf.

Returning to Tamsui Passenger Wharf, we had wondered which one to choose to get on a boat and go to Fishermen’s Wharf at the mouth of the Tamsui River, or head to the other side of the river, Bali.

Tamsui – Fisherman’s Wharf …Adults round-trip 60 yuan (about US$2.00).

Tamsui – Bali…Adults round-trip 34 yuan (about US$1.13).

Between Tamsui and the fisherman’s wharf, the ferry departs every hour on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends.

Eh, it’s only 3 minutes until the departure for Fisherman’s Wharf.

We hurriedly bought our tickets and boarded the ship.

… Oh, I don’t take a boat on the way back, but I bought a round trip ticket by mistake.

The sea breeze and this view… I’m glad I took the ride.

This wave created by the boat screw,

…I can see it all the time.

Arrive at Fisherman’s Wharf in about 15 minuts.

Lover’s Bridge

After getting off the boat, we can see the Lover’s Bridge from the wharf.

A shot from the front of the Lover’s Bridge.

We go up to the Lover Bridge, we could see the scenery of the city along the Tamsui River.

The other side across the Lover Bridge.

Beyond the forest-like area is the Shalun Beach.

As it’s a lover’s bridge, a cute heart symbol is definitely needed.

Inside the Yuzang Seafood Banquet Plaza, which is located beyond the Lover Bridge from the wharf.

Entering from the entrance, the right side is a fish market, but there are actually many souvenir shops, too.

It seems that we can ask them to cook the fish we bought here.

New Taipei City Tamsui District Fisheries Association.

It seems we you can see the equestrian performance of the cavalry of the New Taipei City Police Department.

Hours are 9:00 am to 11:00 am and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm every Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

It says that horses are frightened animals, so when you touch them, you should be gentle and natural, and you should not stand behind the horse.

Ride Ubikes to go back to Tamsui.

We rent a Ubike on the square in right side of Lover Bridge.

Nia and Non’s Easy Cards are registered, so they could take out the Ubike immediately just by holding the Easy Card over,

The remaining 3 of us borrowed from Kiosk with credit cards, so it took quite a while, and there were people lined up, too.

After all, in case of Ubike, credit card payments are so troublesome…

We ride Ubikes and first came to Shalun Beach.

The site of the first lighthouse built on the north bank of the Tamsui River mouth in Taiwan in 1796.

On 8 October 1884, as the French retreated, a radio officer climbed onto this platform and told the motherships, “We have run out of ammunition, our losses are great, and withdrawal is inevitable.” French warships sent amphibious ships to retrieve the soldiers on the beach.

…France was also targeting Taiwan….

Sunset at Tamsui Salun Beach.

From this area called “Tam hai”, head south by Ubike and aim for Tamsui.

Sometimes we stop our bikes and go south while admiring the scenery.

The square across the road from ‘Fort San Domingo’.

Free time in Tamsui.

Arrive at Tamsui, return Ubike and enjoy free time for each one.

In the end, we were divided into three groups, and I was …alone.

Well, it’s a drinking time.

Long time no see discus….

I’ve been buying it without thinking until now, but this cigarette was only 65 yuan (approximately US$2.15)…

So cheap!

It was a day of many first experiences.
