Antiparos island – Aegean Sea, Greece.
The small island of Antiparos in the Aegean Sea of Greece in 1987. I was at a loss as to which island to go to at the Piraeus Harbour, a port town about 10km southwest of Athens, where ferries to the islands of the Aegean Sea arrive and depart. After all, I thought, “I’d like a smaller island,” so I chose Antiparos island and bought a boarding ticket. Antiparos is an island located southwest of Paros island, which is popular with backpackers.
I chose Antiparos because I wanted to visit a smaller island, and as I expected, just a few backpackers got off here.
As a result, I couldn’t find any backpackers to share the lodging with, so I decided to take the lodging by myself on this island.
For the time being, I secured local alcohol OUZO and a some food at a store, and wandered around the port area(This place is the busiest area on the island.), but the town was small, so I finished look around that area in an instant.
When I was walking down the main street, I saw a signboard of “rental bike”.
… It’s looks interesting.
The price wasn’t too expensive, so I decided to rent a motorbike and go around the island.
Once I left the town (villages) around the port, there is really nothing and it’s hard to see people,
I feel like “Is this island reserved just for me?”.
I just passed by a group of five people who were sightseeing on donkeys just once.
Even so, this sense of liberation is irresistibly pleasant.
Seen from the top of a high hill, I feel like as if I was drawn into the deep “blue” of the Aegean Sea.
Until the evening, I rode around the island, which is 3km wide and 10km north to south, on the motorcycle.
There are some places there are something like beaches, so I think,
“I should go there to swim?”, but…
…a little scary…
I have never seen this “deep blue” in Australia or Okinawa.
